Cabernardi hosts 25th Palio della Miniera di Zolfo (Aug 2‑9 2026)

The historic town of Cabernardi in Italy's Marche region will stage the 25th edition of the Palio della Miniera di Zolfo from 2 to 9 August 2026. The week‑long festival celebrates a quarter‑century of mining‑related traditions, featuring competitions that reenact the crafts, gestures and daily life of the 1950s mining and farming community. Four historic districts – Cabernardi Est, Cabernardi Ovest, Doglio and Felcine – will contest in sport and cultural events, opening with a laser‑show and a concert by the Fanti di Bastoni.

The event receives extensive institutional backing, patronage from the Regione Marche, the Regional Council, Fondazione Marche Cultura, the Province of Ancona, the Parco Nazionale dello Zolfo di Marche e Romagna and several local municipalities. It is organised by the Associazione Palio della Miniera di Zolfo in partnership with the Circolo ACLI Ex Minatori di Cabernardi, the cultural association “La Miniera” ODV and the cooperative Happennines Società Cooperativa.
