Community festivals organized in Belgium and the Netherlands
Local communities in Belgium and the Netherlands are hosting neighborhood festivals aimed at fostering social connection.
In the Balei neighborhood, the Baleifeest is celebrating its fifth anniversary on Saturday, August 29. The jubilee edition features a variety of activities for all ages, including music, petanque competitions, a bouncy castle, and face painting. The culinary program includes steak or scampi for adults and meatballs in tomato sauce for children.
In the Muntenbuurt, Buurtplein Batau will host Burendag on Saturday, September 26. Running from 10:00 to 20:00, the event serves residents of Batau-North and Batau-South. The day includes coffee with pastries, lunch, dinner, roti bara, fries, and ice cream. Volunteers will manage the activities to help neighbors meet and connect.
