Community green space and health initiatives launched in Maputo and Cantanhede

In Maputo, Mozambique, the Maputo Municipal Council has signed a memorandum of understanding to requalify the Polana Secondary School Park. Known as the ‘Orange Park’ project, the initiative is a collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands and Eduardo Mondlane University. The project aims to transform the area into an inclusive, educational, and sustainable green space featuring leisure zones, community cultivation areas, and facilities for cultural activities.

In Cantanhede, Portugal, the São Mateus Green Park will host the ‘Rota do Coração’ (Heart Route) on September 27. Part of the ‘Cantanhede Unida Pelo Coração’ project, the event focuses on cardiovascular disease prevention through health assessments and various physical activities, including yoga, pilates, and cycling. The initiative is a partnership involving the Portuguese Cardiology Foundation, local health units, and the Cantanhede Municipality.
