Community grief support services offered in Belgium and the Netherlands

Various community organizations in Belgium and the Netherlands are offering support services for individuals navigating the grieving process.

In Wuustwezel, Belgium, Coda Rouwzorg is hosting an informative lecture on September 8 or 15 to address the various facets of grief following the death of a loved one. The organization provides several other resources, including individual guidance, closed discussion groups, monthly guided walks, and creative workshops such as intuitive painting and mandala drawing. They also offer monthly creative grief groups specifically for children and young adults.

In Leiden, the Netherlands, Humanitas Steun bij Verlies is organizing a meeting group for those who have lost a partner. Starting October 1, 2026, the group will meet for nine evenings under expert guidance. The program is designed for residents of Leiden and the surrounding region to share experiences and feelings with others facing similar life changes. Participants are encouraged to have experienced their loss for at least six months prior to joining.
