Community health and social programs organized in Germany

Various community-focused initiatives are being held in Germany to promote health, social participation, and local engagement.

In Heidelberg, the Hasenleiser neighborhood management and Caritas Heidelberg-Rhein-Neckar organized a health day focused on holistic well-being. The event, held under the motto ‘Miteinander im Hasenleiser: Gemeinsam für Gesundheit’, addressed topics including healthy nutrition, addiction prevention, physical activity, and daily care support. The Wohnverbund of Lebenshilfe Heidelberg participated by providing information and healthy food samples to encourage better eating habits.

In Lüneburg, the Paul-Gerhardt-Haus has announced a new program running from October 2026 to March 2027. While their main facility undergoes renovations, activities will be hosted at the former Godehus natural food store at Schützenplatz. The program, supported by over 120 volunteers, includes various social services such as a children's table, a learning space, a book exchange, and community meals, aimed at fostering interaction across different generations and cultures.
