Community health and social service initiatives in the Czech Republic

Various community health and social service initiatives are taking place in the Czech Republic. In Šumperk, a social services fair is being held to connect residents with providers of care for seniors, people with disabilities, and families in crisis. The event, a tradition since 2005, offers practical demonstrations of compensatory aids, health screenings such as blood pressure and glucose testing, and opportunities to purchase goods made by service users.

In Karlovy Vary, the #MocPomoc Tour is scheduled for September 22, 2026, at the Thermal Hotel. This initiative uses virtual reality (VR) technology to train the public in life-saving first aid skills. The program includes sessions for students and the general public, featuring stations run by the Czech Police on crisis behavior, the Czech Red Cross on basic first aid, and VR Rescue for realistic resuscitation simulations. The project aims to train one million people to ensure immediate assistance is available in any location.
