Community health initiatives launch in Yantai, Manhattan, and Houston
Various community health initiatives and awareness events are being organized across different regions. In Yantai, China, the Municipal Health Commission has announced a ‘Government Open Month’ activity for August 20, 2026. The event, themed ‘Approaching CDC Work, Building a Health Defense Line,’ aims to introduce youth to the functions of the Center for Disease Control through laboratory tours, science lectures, and interactive sessions on infectious disease prevention.
In the United States, several health-focused events are targeting specific communities. The 10th anniversary of ‘North American Chinatown Smoking Cessation Day’ is scheduled for September 14 in Manhattan. Organized by the Chinese American Medical Association (CAMS), the event will focus on lung cancer early screening, cardiovascular health, and the prevention of e-cigarette use among youth.
Additionally, the 2026 Healthy Living Smart Expo was held in Houston, attracting over 300 participants. The exhibition provided comprehensive information on oral health, retirement planning, insurance, and the practical application of AI in daily life, emphasizing a holistic approach to physical, mental, and financial well-being.
