Community health initiatives organized in Almeirim and Portimão

Various community health and wellness initiatives are being organized in Portugal. In Almeirim, a lecture titled ‘Diabetes: 100 years of care’ will be held at the Cine Teatro on October 23. Organized by the Association of Retirees, Pensioners, and Seniors of Almeirim and the Association for the Protection of Diabetics of Portugal, the event aims to promote awareness regarding diabetes prevention, monitoring, and treatment.

In Portimão, the municipal library is launching a new cycle of sessions titled ‘Educating for a Better Future.’ An upcoming session on October 14 will focus on managing fears and anxiety in children and adolescents. Led by clinical psychologist Marina Carvalho, the session is designed for parents, educators, and specialists to help distinguish between normal and pathological anxiety and provide practical management strategies.
