Community health programs launched in Miri and Banjarmasin
Community health initiatives are being conducted in Miri, Malaysia, and Banjarmasin, Indonesia, to provide accessible medical services to local residents.
In Miri, the Miri Riam Ladies Club organized a free health screening program. The initiative offered eye examinations, blood pressure checks, and blood sugar testing. Local participants noted that such programs are vital for elderly residents and low-income families who may face time or financial constraints in accessing basic healthcare.
In Banjarmasin, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Kota Banjarmasin, supported by Bank Kalsel and PAM Bandarmasih, scheduled a blood donation drive and free health checks. The event coincides with the inauguration of the PMI Banjarmasin management for the 2025–2030 term and the 500th anniversary of Banjarmasin. The program aims to increase local blood stocks and encourage early disease detection.
