Community health walks organized in Campolongo Tapogliano and Locri

Various community health and solidarity initiatives are taking place across Italy. In Campolongo Tapogliano, the fourth edition of ‘Walk for the Cure’ is scheduled for September 13, 2026. Organized to support Komen Italia, the event focuses on breast cancer prevention and early diagnosis. Participants can choose between 6-kilometer and 10-kilometer routes, with all proceeds donated to Komen Italia’s research and care projects. Riccardo Masetti, founder and president of Komen Italia, is expected to attend.

In Locri, the ‘Fit Walking Young 2026’ event was held on August 6 to promote donation, wellness, and environmental sustainability. Promoted by Avis Locri and Usmia Carabinieri, the initiative encouraged blood donation awareness and environmental responsibility by promoting reusable water containers. The event also serves as part of a fundraising effort to purchase a defibrillator for the community to enhance local cardiac safety.
