Community initiatives announced in Italy
In Italy, two separate community-focused religious initiatives have been announced. At the Santa Maria surface metro station, a statue of the Virgin Mary, donated by the parish of Santa Maria di Zarapoti, will soon be installed. City Councilor Antonio Barberio expressed gratitude to the local priests and contributors for the initiative, which aims to provide a spiritual symbol of welcome and protection for commuters and residents.
In Pasturo, the Parish of Sant’Eusebio has launched a fundraising campaign titled ‘A new field for the community’ to renovate the Oratorio B. Colombo sports field. The project, estimated to cost 101,600 euros, involves installing a synthetic grass seven-a-side football pitch, improving drainage, adding LED lighting, and maintaining changing rooms. Donations are being managed through the Valsassina Community Fund at the Fondazione comunitaria del Lecchese.
