Community initiatives drive local infrastructure improvements in Argentina and Mexico
In Argentina, Escuela Donatti has completed the renovation of its male restrooms. Director Laura Balmaceda stated that the project was a long-term effort involving the Cooperating Association, FODEMEEP, and various private donations. The improvements also included replacing old doors and windows with aluminum frames to enhance security and aesthetics. The school plans to apply similar renovations to the female restrooms in the future.
In Mexico, the State System for Integral Family Development (SEDIF) conducted community work sessions to improve access to rehabilitation services in Zacapala and Ahuazotepec. These efforts included cleaning and maintaining green areas surrounding the Basic Rehabilitation Units (UBR). The initiative, supported by Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier and aligned with the leadership of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, aims to ensure clean and safe environments for people with disabilities and those requiring rehabilitation.
