Community initiatives focus on educational spaces and literacy

In Pirque, Chile, Liceo El Llano has inaugurated a new learning space developed by Fundación Patio Vivo. The project transformed a former transit corridor into an interactive courtyard featuring climbing platforms, a pergola for calisthenics, and observation walkways that offer views of the surrounding landscape. The design was based on a participatory process involving students and teachers to ensure the space meets their specific social and recreational needs.

In a separate community effort, educator Sonia Ramadori is addressing hidden illiteracy in the Villa María neighborhood. Using the ‘Yo Sí Puedo’ program, Ramadori works to build trust with residents to identify those who cannot read or write, noting that such issues are often underreported in official censuses. Her approach relies on territorial engagement and flexible scheduling to accommodate working adults.
