Community initiatives focus on environmental maintenance in Oruro and Ahome

In Oruro, Freddy Flores has called for a community organic waste collection on October 31 to support the El Titán woodland. The collected material will be used to create compost to fertilize approximately 2,000 seedlings planted in the Santa Bárbara hills over the last two years. The initiative has received support from local businesses, including one providing nearly a ton of sawdust for natural fertilizer production.

In Ahome, Sinaloa, public services are 50 percent complete with cleaning and rehabilitation efforts in cemeteries ahead of Day of the Dead celebrations. Director Iván Roberto Gálvez Meza reported that 44 tons of waste have been collected so far. The work involves weeding, debris removal, tree pruning, and repairing water storage units. Additionally, machinery is being used to rehabilitate access roads to the cemeteries following recent rainfall.
