Community initiatives focus on palliative care and active aging in Slovenia and Croatia
In Maribor, Slovenia, a Hospic Cafe titled ‘Living to the End with Support and Compassion’ is scheduled for October 13 at Vetrinjski dvor. The event aims to facilitate open discussions regarding aging, death, and the importance of palliative care. Speakers Nada Kunstek and Mirjana Mladič will address how palliative care improves the quality of life for those with incurable illnesses and provides support for their families.
In Croatia, the HRT 1 program ‘Treća dob’ will feature a discussion on the ‘Active Aging 55+’ program. Participants Ana Piškurić from the Matica umirovljenika Duga Resa and Mario Beko from the National Foundation for the Development of Civil Society will discuss ways to promote social inclusion, recreation, and lifelong learning for seniors to ensure a more meaningful third age.
