Community initiatives in Argentina and urban vulnerability studies in Spain

In Argentina, the REBITRA library network has launched LecturArte, an initiative in the Traslasierra Valley designed to train reading promoters. The project aims to strengthen community ties and shared literary experiences through collaborative work between local libraries. Workshops have been held at the Biblioteca Rural Las Rabonas and the Universidad Provincial de Córdoba's Mina Clavero regional headquarters, focusing on group reading strategies and the creation of reading clubs.

In Spain, a study by the Research Group in Architecture, Urbanism and Sustainability (giau+s) at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid has identified 18 vulnerable neighborhoods in Córdoba. According to 2021 census data, approximately 141,391 residents—roughly 43.87% of the city's population—live in these areas. The research, funded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, uses indicators such as income, education levels, unemployment, and housing characteristics to categorize vulnerability. The Sector Sur and Santuario neighborhoods are classified as being in severe situations, with Sector Sur specifically showing high rates of unemployment and low income.
