Community initiatives in Helvoirt and Antwerp address housing and European identity

In Helvoirt, community organizers are hosting an open meeting to explore the feasibility of Tiny Houses as a sustainable and affordable housing solution. The initiative aims to involve young people and seniors in discussing how small-scale living could be integrated with green spaces and food forests, drawing inspiration from existing projects in Cromvoirt. The meeting will also address local traffic concerns and efforts to make the village more car-free.

In Antwerp, a lecture series titled ‘Pleidooi voor een genereus Europa’ (Plea for a Generous Europe) will examine the essence and future role of Europe. Speaker Wilbert Lambrechts will discuss Europe not as a political power block, but as a developing entity that could serve as a bridge between East and West. The event includes a discussion on the historical and spiritual development of the continent and the release of a reprinted book containing lectures on the European essence.
