Community initiatives launch in Bisceglie and Bagni di Lucca

Various community-driven cultural and social initiatives are launching in Italy to foster connection and support.

In Bisceglie, the fourth edition of the “La Leggerezza” reading group, organized by CompagniAurea APS, is set to begin in October 2026. Held at the Aurea Factory, the program invites participants aged 16 and older to engage in shared aloud reading sessions of classical and contemporary literature. The initiative aims to transform individual reading into a collective dialogue to discuss contemporary themes.

In Bagni di Lucca, the “Fili di Calore” project has been established by a group of women working at the Auser library laboratory. Participants use crochet and knitting to create wool tiles that are assembled into blankets. These blankets are donated to Sheep Italia, a non-profit organization that distributes them to homeless individuals, the elderly, and vulnerable populations across Italy.
