Community initiatives launch new programs in Vilafranca and Barcelona

The citizen platform 100xCent Vilafranca has launched a series of dinner-conversations designed to foster collective reflection on social, economic, and territorial issues in Vilafranca. The program features diverse experts, including architect Pep Soler, who will discuss urban planning and quality of life; AI expert Ramon López de Mántaras, addressing the ethical and economic impacts of artificial intelligence; and historian Antoni Segura, focusing on international conflicts such as the war in Ukraine and the situation in Palestine.

In Barcelona, the Escola de Transicions and the University of Barcelona have introduced a specialized course focused on community economies and local development. Developed in collaboration with the Xarxa d'Economia Solidària and Ecohub, the program aims to provide tools for collective responses to the ecosocial crisis and social fragmentation. The course will take place across various community spaces in Barcelona, combining theoretical frameworks with the analysis of practical local experiences.
