Community initiatives launch to support active ageing and senior wellbeing
Various initiatives are being launched to promote active ageing and combat social isolation among the elderly. In Corciano, the ‘Happy Ageing’ program, promoted by Acli Perugia in collaboration with the Municipality of Corciano and several local associations, has expanded its calendar of cultural, social, and recreational activities for those over 65.
The program aims to strengthen community ties and autonomy through diverse activities, including itinerant film screenings held in various local venues. Participating organizations include Asilo Tiranti, CSI regionale Umbria, Smah, Fap Acli, Pro Loco Corcianese, Associazione Ferro di Cavallo, and Pro Loco di Torgiano.
Additionally, the ‘Legami in Movimento’ project, promoted by the Associazione Rete per le Fragilità APS, focuses on wellbeing through guided activities and interaction with animals, such as dogs and horses. This initiative seeks to prevent isolation by fostering social networks and active participation within the community.
