Community initiatives launched in Comodoro Rivadavia and La Plata

In Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina, an art contest titled ‘El Puerto que Imaginamos’ has been launched to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the local pier. The competition invites students from initial, primary, and secondary levels—both public and private—in Comodoro Rivadavia, Rada Tilly, and the Bioceanic Corridor to submit collective drawings or paintings inspired by the port's history, present, or future. Prizes include educational equipment valued at 2,000,000 pesos for first place, 1,000,000 for second, and 500,000 for third.

Meanwhile, in La Plata, the Rumbo Sur organization is promoting a community nautical school at Isla Santiago. Operating out of the Barquito de Papel community center, the initiative aims to teach sailing and kayaking to local youth to strengthen their connection with the river. The project includes plans to repair a yacht for a journey to Misiones and utilize an 11-meter sailing vessel for trips toward Ushuaia and Mar del Plata.
