Community initiatives planned for International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
Various community organizations and local governments are organizing activities to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25.
In Querétaro, the collective Adax Digitales will host a series of events, including a self-defense workshop titled “Prevención, Voz y Acción: Autodefensa Femenina” starting November 21. A peaceful demonstration is scheduled for November 22 at Jardín Corregidora in conjunction with We Are Women On Fire, featuring displays to honor victims and identify aggressors. Additional activities are planned for Tequisquiapan and Pinal de Amoles.
In Bicorp, Spain, the City Council has launched the “Voces de Bicorp” initiative. This project involves the collective creation of fabrics to symbolize a community rejection of violence against women. The program includes individual fabric creation on November 5, a collective assembly on November 12, and a commemorative act at the City Hall on November 25. The initiative is supported by the Diputación de Valencia through the Network of Municipalities Protected against Gender Violence.
