Community initiatives promote local engagement in La Luz and Quillota

Various community-led initiatives are taking place to foster local engagement and tradition. In La Luz, the Asociación Socioambiental Biodevas is launching the ‘Conéctate a La Luz 2030’ program. The initiative begins with a neighborhood scavenger hunt designed to strengthen social ties among residents of all ages. The program also includes the ‘Árbol de los Deseos’ (Tree of Wishes), where residents can share their visions for the neighborhood's future. This event marks the start of a series of activities scheduled through December, including intergenerational workshops and community markets.

In Quillota, the Villa Santa Teresita neighborhood is hosting the fourth ‘Folclore en mi barrio’ event. Organized by the Ángel Pino Carroza Neighborhood Association, the gathering features folklore music, dance, and traditional gastronomy such as empanadas and mote con huesillos. The event was created to ensure that residents, particularly older adults who may have difficulty traveling, can participate in local festivities. Additionally, the community is using the event to raise funds for the repair and repaving of Los Naranjos street.
