Community initiatives promote neighborhood support in Germany

Speakers emphasized that building strong community ties requires patience and the ability to navigate differences.

In Munich, the association ‘Dein Nachbar’ (Your Neighbor) continues to connect volunteers with individuals in need of assistance. The organization provides support for seniors and caregivers, such as 90-year-old Erika Unger, who assists a local family with household tasks. Such volunteer networks are increasingly viewed as vital social resources to address labor shortages in professional care sectors.
