Community integration initiatives advance in Uruguay and Mexico
In Maldonado, Uruguay, students from three UTU technical centers participated in a sports integration event titled ‘Por la Convivencia, la Integración y el Juego Limpio’. Organized by the Problem-Oriented Community Police Office (PCOP) and the ‘Pelota al Medio a la Esperanza’ program, the event brought together six mixed teams to promote respect, teamwork, and fair play through football.
In Mazatlán, Mexico, Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez announced that the ‘México Imparable’ Community Center in the Pradera Dorada neighborhood has reached 30 percent completion. Funded by the federal government, the center aims to address the root causes of violence by providing spaces for sports, education, and culture to strengthen the social fabric and support local youth.
