Community lantern parades scheduled in Celle and Grünau

Several community lantern parades are scheduled for early November in Germany.

In Celle, the Hehlentor local council is organizing a lantern procession at the Dammaschwiesen on November 1, 2026. Starting at 5:00 PM near the Pfennigbrücke, the event will feature musical accompaniment by the Scheuen marching band and torchbearers from the Hehlentor 1880 Shooting Society. Food and drinks will be provided by the DLRG local group in the medicinal plant garden.

In Leipzig's Grünau district, the 6th Lipsia lantern parade will take place on November 3, 2026, to mark the 50th anniversary of Grünau. The event begins at 4:30 PM at the Lipsia hologram on Uranusstraße. The route will feature illuminated fantasy planets created by local institutions, digital interactions via QR codes on new murals, and music from a handpan player. The evening is expected to include a fire show and various food and beverage options.
