Community leaders and seniors honored in Costa Rican regional events
In Alajuela, approximately 100 representatives from communal organizations gathered in Naranjo to commemorate Community Servant Day. Organized by the Federation of Cantonal and Zonal Unions of the Province of Alajuela (FEDEUCAZA), the event recognized the contributions of nine community leaders and honored Luis Antonio Barrantes for his work in strengthening dialogue between development associations and local governments.
In a separate initiative, Coopeguanacaste organized a health and recreation event for approximately 350 older adults to mark National Senior Citizens Day. Through an alliance with the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS), the program provided free mammograms and health guidance. The event focused on promoting physical activity and social inclusion for residents aged 65 and older within the cooperative’s coverage area.
