Community leaders honored with regional awards in Slovakia and Hungary

Regional authorities in Slovakia and Hungary have issued awards to individuals and groups for their contributions to community development and social welfare.

In Slovakia, the Trnava County Council honored 34 personalities and communities for their roles in regional progress. Among the recipients was György Bugár, founder of the Fény Civil Association and leader of the Dunajská Streda Parish Charity. Bugár has been recognized for over two decades of humanitarian work, including coordinating food assistance for vulnerable populations during the pandemic and managing support for approximately 150 families annually through volunteer efforts.

In Hungary, Eszter Kormányosné Makai, honorary president of the Kecskemét Pensioners' Association, received the Civiles for Kecskemét Award. The recognition highlights her long-term commitment to the elderly community and local civil life. Additionally, the Kecskemét Elderly Council presented several awards to individuals including Dr. Béláné Magyari, Ilona Szabó, György Gregor, and musician Sándor Szabó for their dedicated service to the city's senior citizens.
