Community mental‑health workshops launched in Uruguay and Chile
In Salto, Uruguay, community agent Daniela Díaz organized neighborhood mental‑health workshops with the Department of Health and ASSE. The sessions teach participants how to recognize warning signs of distress, practice first‑aid psychology, manage emotions and access support networks. An open workshop is scheduled for 30 June in Barrio Artigas under the theme “Health is built together.”
In Viña del Mar, Chile, Hospital Dr. Gustavo Fricke held its first “Self‑regulation workshop for emotional crises,” open to the public. The Community Assertive Team delivered interactive training on identifying and regulating feelings, with participants reporting improved coping skills. Hospital staff plan to run a series of similar workshops for broader community outreach.
