Community mourning in Italy for local losses

The town of Trasacco has declared a period of municipal mourning following the death of 10-year-old Nino Soricone. The child passed away after a courageous battle with an illness, prompting Mayor Cesidio Lobbene to order that flags on public buildings be flown at half-mast on the day of the funeral and to suspend scheduled public events.

In San Mauro Pascoli, a ceremony was held at Cellini Park to unveil a commemorative plaque for Maurizio Colombo. Colombo died in a bicycle accident in 1980 at the age of 10. The memorial honors his decision to donate his organs, a gesture that saved two lives. Local officials, including Mayor Moris Guidi, attended the ceremony to recognize the long-term impact of his altruism.
