Community musical events announced in Roermond and Deurne

Various community musical activities are being organized in the Netherlands. In Roermond, the Joehoe singing day is scheduled for October 17 at the ECI Cultuurfabriek. Aimed at children aged approximately 7 to 13, the event features workshops in singing, acting, and visual arts based on the theme ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’. Participation is based on a voluntary contribution to ensure accessibility.

In Deurne, the project choir Cantiamo is resuming rehearsals on September 23 for its fourth project, titled ‘Klanken in bloei’. The repertoire spans six centuries of music history, including works by Vivaldi and Thomas Morley. The choir, led by conductor Jan van de Beek with vocal support from Patricia Smulders, is currently seeking new members. An open rehearsal will be held at the Willibrorduskerk on September 27 as part of the Deurne Culture Festival.
