Community Oktoberfest celebrations feature German traditions

Various community Oktoberfest celebrations are scheduled to take place in October, featuring traditional German food, music, and activities.

Naper Settlement in Naperville will host its annual event on October 2 and 3. The celebration includes German cuisine such as schnitzel, bratwurst, and soft pretzels, alongside imported and local beers, including a brew from Bavaria. The event features live music ranging from polka to country and includes stein-holding contests for adults and a dedicated children’s area.

In Voorhees, the Seaton Voorhees senior living community will hold an Oktoberfest celebration on October 8. The event aims to connect residents with the local community through themed decor, seasonal beverages, and a chef-prepared German-inspired menu. Raffles held during the event will raise funds for the Animal Orphanage.
