Community peace marches and human rights events scheduled in Italy

Various community initiatives promoting peace and human rights are scheduled across Italy. In Terranuova Bracciolini, an event featuring Mimmo Lucano, Mayor of Riace and Member of the European Parliament, will take place on September 17. Lucano is expected to discuss social justice, anti-racism, and the revitalization of Riace through migrant integration. This meeting serves as a precursor to the ‘Week for Peace,’ which includes a peace march from Montevarchi to San Giovanni Valdarno between September 30 and October 3.

Additionally, the ‘Steps of Peace’ march is organized for September 19 in Ozzano dell'Emilia. Starting from Villa Maccaferri, the initiative aims to promote human rights through testimonies and community reflection. The event is supported by organizations including Amnesty International, ANPI, and the Municipality of Ozzano dell'Emilia, focusing on the active construction of peace through dialogue and justice.
