Community playground and facility developments in the Netherlands

New community and playground developments are underway in the Netherlands. In Amsterdam, construction is progressing on the new UJ Klaren playground building at Tweede Weteringplantsoen. Scheduled to open in early 2027, the facility will serve various community functions, including a Dynamo preschool, a neighborhood room managed by DOCK, a kitchen for daily activities by Amsta, and a support hub for care and welfare by Stadsdorp Wetering+.

In the municipality of Stadskanaal, the Kampvennen nature playground in Onstwedde is being upgraded to become the area's first inclusive play space. Supported by a €25,000 grant from the SamenSpeelFonds and Jantje Beton, the project includes installing wide, hardened paths for wheelchair accessibility, specialized swings, and sensory features like a tactile wall. The improvements also aim to provide quiet areas for children sensitive to noise.
