Community prevention forces implement new training and engagement in Argentina and Uruguay

In Hurlingham, Argentina, the Community Prevention Corps (CPC) has begun training to expand its operational capacity. The corps, which has grown to approximately 175 agents, is implementing training in the rational and progressive use of force. This includes instruction on Byrna pistols—non-lethal weapons that use impact projectiles or incapacitating capsules—as well as tonfa batons, self-defense, and emergency response procedures. The training is being conducted with support from the Juan Vucetich University Institute.

In Paysandú, Uruguay, the Problem-Oriented Community Police (PCOP) has been engaging in various community activities. These include participating in local events such as the Spring Parade in Porvenir and attending the Diversity Fair in the Chaplin neighborhood. During these interactions, officers have been distributing information regarding emergency lines, reporting channels, and the services provided by the PCOP to promote community inclusion and coexistence.
