Community programs launch for seniors in Split and Bizovac
Various community initiatives in Croatia are launching programs to support and engage the elderly population.
In Split, the association ‘MI’ - Split is organizing free music workshops titled ‘Druženje uz pjesmu’ for individuals aged 55 and older. Starting September 3, these sessions will take place at the ‘Zlatno doba’ Center on Mondays and Thursdays. Led by volunteer Jerko Marević, the workshops aim to foster social connection and a positive atmosphere through music.
In Bizovac, the municipality is inviting residents aged 65 and older to a Day Care center at the Educational Center. Part of the ‘Zajedno brinemo o najranjivima II’ project, the program offers social activities, creative workshops, internet access, and psychosocial support. The initiative, co-funded by the European Union, also provides free transportation for regular users to assist with daily needs such as pharmacy or grocery visits.
