Community road repairs in Burkina Faso and infrastructure compensation in Gabon
In Burkina Faso, residents of the Tikaré and Kongoussi communes in Bam Province are organizing community efforts to rehabilitate National Road 15 (RN15). Following the return of displaced populations to their villages, the road had fallen into disrepair due to previous insecurity in the area. Local leaders and the High Commissioner of Bam, Karim Ouédraogo, have visited the sites to encourage these community-led works aimed at restoring connectivity while awaiting government assistance.
In Gabon, 41 families in Nkoltang have received 312 million FCFA in compensation to clear land for an access road leading to a future waste treatment and recovery center (CTVD). The compensation, overseen by Governor Marie-Françoise Dikouma and Minister Mays Mouissi, covers 75 properties. This project is part of a broader initiative to reorganize waste management in the Grand Libreville area and address public safety concerns related to the Mindoubé landfill.
