Community safety and crime prevention programs launched in Hungary and Romania

Various community safety and awareness programs are being launched in Hungary and Romania.

In Békés County, Hungary, the ‘Day of Enlightenment’ will take place on October 2 across eight settlements, including Békéscsaba, Gyula, and Orosháza. The event focuses on cycling safety and traffic regulations through interactive stations, bicycle inspections, and educational games for children and adults.

In Maros County, Romania, the police and the ‘Save the Children’ organization have initiated a crime prevention week running from September 21 to 25. The campaign features daily themes targeting different demographics, including child safety, online security, and the prevention of domestic violence. Partner organizations involved include the Red Cross, SMURD, and local child protection directorates.
