Community safety and health initiatives launched in Montenegro and Serbia
In Montenegro, the Tivat Police Station has implemented a series of community outreach and educational programs. The “Police Work in the Local Community” initiative included traffic safety lessons for approximately 260 first-grade students at local primary schools, including “Branko Brnović” and “Drago Milović”. Additionally, the program featured a panel discussion for high school students regarding responsible behavior among young drivers and pedestrians, as well as “Open Door Days” to introduce preschool children to police equipment and operations.
In Serbia, medical teams from the University Clinical Center (UKC) Niš and the Institute “Niška Banja” conducted free preventive health screenings in the village of Pasi Poljana. This initiative, which has already covered 64 villages, provides residents with heart examinations, blood sugar testing, and blood pressure checks. Officials noted that the program has been vital for early diagnosis, with approximately 10% of the 850 patients examined in the recent phase requiring further diagnostics or rehospitalization. The screenings are scheduled to continue in the village of Medoševac.
