Community service events held across U.S. for America250

Various community service and athletic events are being held across the United States as part of the America250 commemorations.

In Milford, Connecticut, BAPS Charities hosted the 2026 Spirit of Service Walk-Run on May 31. The local event drew nearly 250 participants to support the Boys & Girls Club of Milford. The initiative is part of a larger nationwide effort by BAPS Charities that engaged over 50,000 participants across more than 100 cities in the U.S. and Canada to support local nonprofit organizations.

In Boston, Massachusetts, the 11th Annual DAV 5K Boston has achieved its fastest sell-out in history. All 1,500 registrations were claimed 82 days ahead of the race scheduled for November 7, 2026. The event, which takes place at DCR Fort Independence at Castle Island, supports the Disabled American Veterans Department of Massachusetts and its programs for veterans throughout the Commonwealth.
