Community solidarity initiatives provide food and aid in Colombia and Chile
Various community solidarity initiatives have been held to support vulnerable populations. In Medellín, Colombia, the Telealimentón 2026 event organized by the Banco Arquidiocesano de Alimentos raised 651,310,000 pesos. The funds exceeded the initial 500 million peso goal and will be used to strengthen support for the bank's beneficiaries and assist with earthquake emergency relief.
In Valparaíso, Chile, the 11th edition of the Banquete Solidario brought together approximately 500 people in the Barrio Puerto neighborhood. Organized by Duoc UC Sede Valparaíso in collaboration with Iglesia La Matriz and Comedor 421, the event featured 458 lunches prepared by the Duoc UC School of Gastronomy. The gathering also included musical performances and art exhibitions to foster community engagement.
