Community solidarity initiatives reported across Brazil

Various community-driven solidarity projects have been reported across different Brazilian regions, focusing on education, health, and social support.

In Rio Claro, the Monsenhor Martins Municipal School implemented the ‘Armazém Solidário’ project during September and October. The initiative combines environmental sustainability with financial education by allowing students to exchange recyclable materials for a social currency called ENA (Educação, Natureza e Ambiente). This currency can be used to purchase food and hygiene products at a temporary school warehouse. During the two-month period, students collected one ton of recyclables.

In Sena Madureira, Acre, the Instituto Santa Juliana School organized a solidarity raffle to support 15-year-old student Antônio Lucas Maia. The campaign raised R$ 2,890.00 to assist with his rehabilitation expenses after he obtained a necessary prosthesis through the Unified Health System (SUS). The effort included contributions from the Fontenele de Castro School and local residents.

In Campo Grande, the ‘O Seu Pezinho Virou Pezão’ campaign, led by the store Pezinho&Cia at Shopping Campo Grande, donated 504 pairs of shoes to students and families of the Girassol Special Education Center (CEDEG/APAE). This year's donation nearly doubled the 262 pairs collected in 2024.
