Community sports and recreational programs expand in Venezuela and Guatemala

In Venezuela, the Los Módulos community in the Páez municipality of Achaguas received a significant delivery of sports equipment. The initiative was a joint effort between the local community and the Municipal Institute of Sport of Achaguas (IMDAFRA). This equipment aims to support community sports spokespersons in leading training and recreation for children and youth, preparing for the upcoming Inter-Circuit Communal Games.

In Guatemala, the Vice Ministry of Sport and Recreation is coordinating with community leaders from the 48 Cantons of Totonicapán to organize sports, recreational, and cultural activities. Vice Minister Ricardo José Alvarado met with leaders to plan the ‘Tardes Noches del Vivir Bien’ family festival. This program seeks to decentralize recreational access, with upcoming festival dates scheduled for Morales, Santa Catarina Pinula, and Salamá.
