Community sports infrastructure developments in Paraguay and Colombia

In Cambyretá, Paraguay, local authorities have broken ground on a new multi-use sports court in the San Roque neighborhood. Part of the ‘Mi Barrio, Mi Pasión’ initiative, the 442-square-meter facility will include LED lighting, protective fencing, and equipment for football, volleyball, and basketball to promote community integration and physical activity.

Meanwhile, in San José del Guaviare, Colombia, parents and representatives of the Pulgarín Bike team are calling for urgent improvements to the sports area at La Reconciliación Park. The group, which trains children aged one to four in Push Bike, reports that the facility lacks adequate lighting, requires maintenance, and faces issues with substance use in the surrounding area. They have requested intervention from local and regional authorities to ensure a safe training environment for young athletes.
