Community summer programs announced for children in Germany

Various summer holiday programs and community activities are being organized for children across different regions in Germany.

In Wangen, the Stadtbücherei is hosting a six-week series of Tuesday events. The schedule includes children's cinema featuring ‘Checker Tobi – Die heimliche Herrscherin der Erde’, theatrical performances such as ‘Kauz und Kekse’ and ‘Herr Röslein’, and creative workshops like a printing studio led by artist Veronika Wucher.

In the Heinsberg district, the Jugendtreff Alte Schule Höngen (ASH) and the Mobile Offene Jugendarbeit (MoJA) Gangelt are collaborating to host a ‘Summer Kids Camp’ on August 29 and 30, 2026. Held at the Rodebachtal youth campsite in Selfkant-Süsterseel, the camp follows the theme ‘Light & Shadow’. Activities for children aged 9 and older include making kaleidoscopes and shadow lanterns, stargazing with a telescope, and communal baking.
