Community Summer Programs Wrap Up in Baja California and Calexico

The Sistema DIF of Baja California concluded its "Verano de Campeones 2026" program, a two‑week summer course that offered educational, sports and cultural activities to roughly 300 children across the state’s municipalities. State DIF president Mavis Olmeda García attended the closing ceremony at the CDC DIF Pilares "Valle de Puebla" in Mexicali, highlighting teamwork, hygiene education and recreational events.

Meanwhile, the Calexico Unified School District’s SPARKS program hosted a family Lego night in Calexico, California. About 100 families participated in hands‑on Lego workshops, received take‑home sets and a dinner, as the district closed its summer activities that had enrolled up to 900 children. Both events emphasized family engagement, creativity and community well‑being.
