Community Support Fund promotes waste disposal education

The Community Support Fund (FAC) held a sustainability meeting at Hospital São Julião in Campo Grande to discuss environmental education and proper waste disposal practices. Led by environmental policy manager Bruno Madallena, the session focused on encouraging correct waste management in homes, businesses, and institutions.

FAC President Adir Diniz emphasized the necessity of constant education regarding the 'zero waste' concept. The organization is already implementing several sustainability initiatives, including the 'Todos em Ação' drive-thru for recyclables.

Additionally, the Urban Agriculture Technical Unit (UTA) manages organic waste by converting materials such as fruit and tree prunings into agroecological fertilizer through composting. This fertilizer is distributed free of charge to the general public, small urban and peri-urban farmers, and cooperatives to promote sustainable city practices.
