Argentine banks issue fraud prevention warnings and training
Financial institutions in Argentina are implementing measures to combat digital fraud and enhance cybersecurity awareness. Banco del Chubut has released specific guidelines to help customers identify official communication channels and prevent scams. The bank emphasized that it will never request passwords, PINs, tokens, or sensitive card information via phone, email, or messaging apps, nor will it ask users to install remote access software or transfer funds to “protect” accounts.
In Chaco, Nuevo Banco del Chaco (NBCH) has scheduled a community training session titled “Gimnasia Antifraudes” for October 27. Led by cybersecurity specialist Julio López, the event aims to provide tools for detecting deceptive virtual maneuvers. The program will also include cognitive stimulation activities to help participants recognize risk situations and strengthen security habits when using digital financial services.
