Community Transport for Nottingham declares bankruptcy
Community Transport for Nottingham (CT4N), a long-standing transport provider operating since 1979, has announced its immediate cessation of operations due to bankruptcy. The company, which operated over 20 routes across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, was unable to overcome a severe financial crisis despite attempts to restructure its debts.
Company officials cited rising costs for fuel, insurance, vehicle maintenance, and personnel, alongside regulatory pressures, as the primary drivers that made operations unsustainable. The collapse has resulted in the immediate termination of nearly all 76 employees.
Local transport networks have begun implementing emergency alternative routes to cover affected services, including the number 18 bus line.
