Community walking and running events announced in the Netherlands

Various community events are scheduled in the Netherlands. On September 19, 2026, SWOS will host a walking tour passing the Kamp Het Wijde Gat memorial and monument in Staphorst. The event offers five different distances, ranging from 7.5 to 40 kilometers, and serves to honor the late board member Jakob Slager, who was instrumental in establishing the memorial site.

Additionally, registration has opened for the sixth annual Glow Run & Walk in Oosterhout, scheduled for January 9, 2027. Held at the De Warande recreation area, the event features a Glow Walk, a Glow Family Run, and a Glow Run. Participants are encouraged to wear colorful outfits for the illuminated courses, which include distances from 1.5 to 9 kilometers.
